Sam Asghari filed for divorce from Britney Spears on August 16, 2023, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The couple had been together for six years and married for 14 months. There was a prenuptial agreement in place, but one of the biggest challenges was how to split up the couple’s five dogs.
According to TMZ, the couple has at least worked out that part of the contentious divorce. Both are reported to be happy with the situation.
Sam will be the sole owner of Porsha, a Doberman. He originally gave the dog to Britney for protection in October 2021. It was reportedly not easy for Britney to part with Porsha.
Britney will keep the other four dogs. Sawyer is an Australian Shepherd and Hannah is a Yorkie. There are also two other smaller pups whose names and breeds are unknown.
On Friday August 18, 2023, Britney broke her silence about the divorce on Instagram. “As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together … 6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I’m a little shocked,” Britney began. “I’m not here to explain why because it’s honestly nobody’s business !!! But, I couldn’t take the pain anymore honestly !!!”
