Emma Heming Willis recently gave an update on the current status of her husband Bruce Willis' health. During an exclusive interview with cohost Hoda Kotb on the Today, she opened up about her role as his primary caregiver since he was diagnosed with dementia earlier in 2023.
The interview, which took place on September 25, 2023, kicked off World Frontotemporal Dementia Awareness Week. Emma was joined by Susan Dickinson, who is the CEO of the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration.
"Dementia is hard," Emma shared. "It’s hard on the person diagnosed, it’s also hard on the family. And that is no different for Bruce, or myself, or our girls. When they say this is a family disease, it really is."
She continued on to state that she is unsure if Bruce is aware of his condition. "It's hard to know." In March 2022, the actor had been diagnosed with aphasia, which is a language disorder that affects how a person communicates. This caused him to step away from his acting career.
