Dex Carvey, Son Of Dana Carvey, Cause Of Death Has Been Revealed

The cause of death for Dex Carvey, the eldest son of comedian Dana Carvey, who died suddenly on November 15, 2023, at the age of 32, has been revealed. According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, it was confirmed that the aspiring comedian died from a lethal combination of fentanyl, ketamine, and cocaine. His death is listed as an accidental drug overdose, per the report. On the day of his death, emergency services found him unresponsive inside of a locked bathroom after his girlfriend Kaylee called for help.

The 68-year-old actor and his wife, Paula, confirmed their son's death in November via an Instagram post. “Last night we suffered a terrible tragedy. Our beloved son, Dex, died of an accidental drug overdose. He was 32 years old,” it read. “Dex packed a lot into those 32 years. He was extremely talented at so many things — music, art, filmmaking, comedy — and pursued all of them passionately."

“It’s not an exaggeration to say Dex loved life,” the post went on. “And when you were with him, you loved life too. He made everything fun. But most of all, he loved his family, his friends, and his girlfriend Kaylee. Dex was a beautiful person. His handmade birthday cards are a treasure. We will miss him forever.”

Dex's most notable gig was when he opened for his dad's 2016 Netflix special Straight White Male. That same year, he also appeared in the short film Carpool Pandering, which was directed by F. Clint DeNisco.
