Some celebrities shy away from speaking about politics, but Christina Ricci isn’t one of them. It’s pretty clear where she stands, actually. Her fans love how blunt and opinionated she is on social media, and many of her (sometimes humorous) posts have gone viral. Most recently, a succinct message Christina, 46, shared to her Instagram Stories got a lot of people talking about reproductive rights.
Many celebrities come across as very PR-trained, and even when they do speak up about topics they care about, it might come in the form of a carefully constructed and polished statement. Meanwhile, Christina’s recent viral post is a simple meme about Roe v. Wade.
It’s been more than four years since Roe v. Wade was overturned.

In 2022, the Supreme Court decision did away with the constitutional right to abortion, which existed for nearly 50 years. Christina didn’t write the message she shared herself, but it’s pretty obvious how she feels about the whole thing.
The meme she shared to her Stories, which was originally posted by an account called @the—girlabides, read: “Girls don’t miss their ex, they miss Roe v. Wade.”
Christina’s sharing of this particular meme has gotten a lot of attention online.
Someone reposted a screenshot of it on Reddit, where many people agreed with the message and praised Christina for speaking up about it. “Common Christina W,” one fan commented.
“Abortions are a big part of reproductive healthcare,” someone else wrote. “Denying that is subjecting women to subpar health care.” Even some people who were less directly impacted by the overturning of Roe v. Wade noted that they’re still angry about it. “I can’t even have kids anymore and I miss Roe vs Wade,” one of them said.
This is far from the only topic that Christina has spoken up about, and some fans really love that about her. “I so love and admire the people with fame who are taking a stand against this administration,” another commenter noted. “I will continue to volunteer, to vote, etc., but I love her fire.” And “fire” really is a good way to describe it, especially when you look at the other things she has posted.
Earlier this year, her response to a MAGA influencer went viral as well.

In March, when conservative influencer Emily Wilson tried to claim that “fat chicks vote democrat,” Christina quickly set the record straight. Again, Christina’s message was pretty concise, and yet, she touched on multiple points: people of various body types vote Democrat, including skinny people. But also, does it matter? How thin someone is or what they look like is really not what’s important. She didn’t worry about being polite about it, though.
“I’m skinnier that you you a–hole and I still vote democrat or as liberal as I can because there is more to life than being thin,” Christina wrote back. “What you contribute to this world is what matters, loser.” Oof.
Christina has publicly written messages to other accounts as well. Similar to her response to Emily and her Roe v. Wade post, they do not come across as PR-trained in the slightest. She even wrote a message to Wendy’s, asking the food chain whether it supports President Donald Trump. “I love you but I’m told (you’re) MAGA??? 😬😬😬” she said to the fast food chain. “tell me it’s not so.”
She also responded to someone who asked, “Who here believes feminism is evil?” She wrote back with, “Not me, a–hole. Fight for my own rights? Only something men would do, right? F— you and all of your friends.”
