On April 24, 2024, The Sun reported that Paolo Liuzzo died from what is believed to be a drug overdose. His death occurred at around 3:34 p.m. on February 7 in a room at the CitizenM Miami Worldcenter hotel in Miami, Florida. Paolo once dated Princess Beatrice, a member of the British royal family and daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York.
His body was transported back to his hometown of Long Island, New York. A funeral was held on February 16. Facts about this tragic incident are still coming to light.
The investigation into his death is still ongoing according to Officer Michael Vega of the Miami Police Department. It is being treated as an overdose at the moment. The case is still open.
A source close to Paolo told The Sun that the deceased was “not doing great” right before his death. His partying was concerning to his friends.
“It was a very fast lifestyle and we all feared it would catch up with him eventually,” the source explained. “He was always borrowing money to pay off old loans. It became a vicious cycle.” Princess Beatrice is reportedly heartbroken over his passing.

Princess Beatrice dated Paolo in 2005 when she was 17 years old and he was 24. In 2002, before Beatrice and Paolo got together, Paolo was charged with the manslaughter of Jonathan R. Duchatellier. Paolo and Jonathan were both students at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, and got into a drunken fight. Paolo eventually pleaded guilty to lesser charges of assault and battery. He was placed on probation and served 100 hours of community service.
