Jessie was a flight attendant working one of her usual travel routes when she spotted something that immediately caught her eye as she made her way down the aisle to check on passengers. Sitting completely by themselves in one of the seats was a baby.
Jessie looked around and asked a few passengers if this baby belonged with them or if they knew where they came from but nobody had an answer for her. As Jessie got closer to the baby, she noticed a note fastened to his blanket that read “Please care for him.”
Feeling completely startled and overwhelmed, Jessie decided to look through the flight manifest and didn’t find a trace of this baby boy listed on it. She immediately spoke to the cabin crew and notified the airline of what was happening. There was nothing they could do while the plane was in the air on its way to its destination except to wait and try to comfort the little one.
Throughout the flight, Jessie felt protective and didn’t let the baby out of her sight. During some turbulence, the baby started to cry and fuss, which isn’t unusual for babies on airplanes, but something still felt off.
Jessie managed to find a doctor on the flight who was able to examine the baby. The doctor told her that the little one would likely need medical attention once they landed as he was spiking a fever and appeared unwell.

As the flight progressed, the doctor grew more worried for the baby’s well-being. He asked if the flight crew could prepare for a possible emergency landing at a closer airport as the baby’s vital signs were a real cause for concern.
