“Oh, we got trouble, we're in terrible, terrible trouble,” a famous song from The Music Man laments. Art may be imitating life. Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster starred in the musical on Broadway together for over a year beginning in 2021. In Touch Weekly is reporting that sparks flew during the production.
The publication claims that Hugh is romancing Sutton. Hugh separated from his wife, Deborra-lee Furness, in September 2023 and Sutton is married to screenwriter Ted Griffin, making the allegations even spicier. A source claimed their romance is an open secret in the New York theater community.
Another source took things even further, claiming that Hugh might have caught feelings even before he was separated. They claim Hugh “has been besotted with Sutton from the moment he met her. He followed her around like a puppy!”
The source went on to say that Sutton liked the attention and was “absolutely giddy around” Hugh. Sutton is no stranger to Broadway controversy after being publicly cheated on by ex-husband Christian Boyle who fell for his Legally Blonde costar Laura Bell Bundy. Showmancing is a thing even on Broadway. Sutton reportedly appreciated how Hugh made her feel like an equal during the production and even insisted they share equal billing above the title of the show.

Hugh and Deborra-lee were married 27 years before separating. Another source told The Globe that toward the end of their relationship, things became platonic. “They were more tied to each other as business partners than as man and wife,” the source explained. “It became like a brother and sister type of deal. Things weren’t working on a physical or romantic level.”
