‘Golden Bachelor’ Gerry Turner, Theresa Nist Reveal Whether Or Not They Signed A Prenup

After three months together, Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist from The Golden Bachelor are already getting divorced, and people have questions: mainly, why get divorced after just three months of marriage?

Gerry, 72, and Theresa, 70, shared the news on Good Morning America on Friday, April 12. Gerry and Theresa tied the knot on January 4 on TV and with their loved ones present, and they claim their still in love with each other.

“There’s no doubt in my mind, I still am in love with her. I root for her every day," Gerry said on GMA.

“Yeah, I still love him," Theresa agreed. So what went wrong for the couple?

After they announced their divorce, TMZ reportedly learned some more information about what led to their split. The outlet reported that sources said Theresa's career was at least part of the reason the couple decided to split up.

Theresa reportedly didn't love the idea of leaving her job as a compliance officer to move to a new city — especially because she loves her job and it would hard to be find something new at her age, reported TMZ.

According to the outlet, they tried to make it work by compromising, but they couldn't reach an agreement that made sense.

The couple also alluded to this when speaking on GMA.

"Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations, and we’ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation, so forth and — and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it’s probably time for us to — dissolve our marriage,” Gerry said.

Gerry also noted that they both prioritize their families — and the best way for them to do that is by living separate lives.

"We look at these situations and I think we just feel like it’s best for the happiness of each of us to, to live apart," he said.

They allegedly remain friends — and they revealed that they did sign a prenup. “And they highly recommend it to others," GMA anchor Juju Chang said.

Theresa has to give her ring — the custom-made princess cut diamond ring — back as well.

“I think that’s the rule, I think I have to give this ring back. Sad to say,” Theresa said during her GMA interview.

Before they decided to get divorced, their marriage was reportedly long distance, as they hadn't moved in together or even decided where to live, reported US Weekly. Gerry stayed in Indiana while Theresa was still in New Jersey.
