On April 12, 2023 Jamie Foxx had a "medical complication," which was confirmed by his daughter Corrinne Fox on Instagram. The family has remained tight-lipped about its exact nature. Since then, multiple stars have come forward to give their well wishes and weigh in on the situation.
Filming on Jamie’s project the Netflix film Back In Action had to be halted because of the star’s health. A source close to Cameron Diaz, his costar on the project, spoke to People magazine about the situation, stating she was “shocked and saddened.” John Boyega, who starred alongside Jamie in the film They Cloned Tyrone, also spoke about his costar at the movie’s premiere.
Cameron did not see her friend and costar’s condition coming. “One day they were working together, and the next he was just gone,” claimed the source. It all happened so quickly she was not sure how to best be of service. “She wanted to be supportive and help out in any way, but his family has kept his status very quiet,” the source added.
Filming resumed on Back in Action without Jamie. A stand-in had to be used for some of Jamie’s scenes. The show must go on, after all. This was not the only work-related event Jamie has missed because of his health. He was also not present at the They Cloned Tyrone premiere.

John weighed in on Jamie’s absence as he had recently spoken to him on the phone. “He's doing well,” John explained. “And then, you know, we just giving him the privacy, and we can't wait for his return. I gave him all the well wishes. So I'm just gonna be waiting until he comes back out here. So take your time, Jamie. We love you, bro.”
