Jane Fonda Slams Frequent Costar Robert Redford: ‘He Just Has An Issue With Women’

Crushes are normally harmless fantasies that happen throughout life. They are not just for hormonal teenagers who are yearning for their first real relationships. Actress Jane Fonda admitted to having a crush on one of her frequent costars when she was younger.

Jane made this confession at an event in her honor at the Cannes Film Festival, "Rendezvous with Jane Fonda." The object of her affection? Her Barefoot in the Park and The Electric Horseman costar Robert Redford. It appears her love was unrequited and extremely one-sided.

“He did not like to kiss,” Jane explained. “I never said anything [to him about it]. And he’s always in a bad mood, and I always thought it was my fault.”

She did go on to say Robert is “a very good person. He just has an issue with women.”

Jane has since moved past her crush and now has a better sense of self. The pair worked together on 2017’s Our Souls at Night. “What was I, about 80 years old or something like that. And I finally knew I had grown up. When he would come on the set three hours late in a bad mood, I knew it wasn’t my fault,” she mused.

Jane also admitted to having a little crush on a newer costar, Tom Brady, from her 2023 film 80 for Brady. “When he walked into my trailer at the end, my knees gave way. I had to hold onto something. I mean, he is gorgeous. He is so gorgeous,” she gushed.
