When talking about your husband in the context of your children, it is almost natural to say dad or daddy instead of their given name. When you are a cohost of a popular morning show, it makes for a funny television moment. Jenna Bush Hager accidentally called her husband Henry Hager daddy on Monday, November 20, 2023’s episode of Today.
Moms everywhere can surely relate. Jenna laughed off her blunder. Her cohost Hoda Kotb helped her move on to another topic to keep the show rolling.
Jenna was talking about her son Hal when the mistake happened. Hal wants to dress up as characters from the Troll movie with his dad Henry. “Hal wants to be baby Diamond and have daddy be — first of all, I just called him daddy on television,” she said, calling herself out.
Jenna, Hoda, and the crew all had a good laugh about the situation. “Oh gosh, I just called my husband daddy. I need to be put in some sort of, is there like a corner where I can go sit for a few minutes just to think?” Jenna joked.
