While in Spain for the San Sebastián Film Festival, Johnny Depp had additional plans. The actor donned his full Jack Sparrow costume and stopped at a hospital, hoping to cheer up the children in the hospital's pediatrics and oncology unit. Dressed at Jack Sparrow, the character he portrayed in the Pirates of the Caribbean film series, Johnny, 61, talked and laughed with patients at Donostia University Hospital in San Sebastián, Spain.
His commitment to staying in character the entire time created a lighthearted and fun environment for the children in the hospital.
The interactions with Jack Sparrow brightened the day for the children, and families and medical staff also joined in on the fun. According to Us Weekly, Johnny (still dressed as Jack Sparrow) posed for photos with staff at the hospital while he was there.
The hospital shared a statement on X to thank the actor for his time. "From all the staff of the Donostia University Hospital, we would like to express our infinite gratitude to Johnny Depp for his time, his support and his energy, as well as to @sansebastianfes for having facilitated this visit," Donostia University Hospital shared on X.
