Las Vegas Man Arrested In Connection To 1996 Shooting Of Tupac Shakur

A man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Tupac Shakur, which happened in 1996, almost 30 years ago. According to the Associated Press, Duane “Keffe D” Davis was arrested on September 29. Tupac was only 25 years old when he was killed in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas.

The case has perplexed people for many years, but Davis has also been known to be a witness for some time. In a 2019 memoir, he wrote about how he was in the car when shots were fired, but he did not personally take responsibility for the shooting.

Tupac was a passenger in a BMW waiting at a red light when a Cadillac pulled up next to his vehicle and shots were fired. Davis has been open about being a witness in the event, but instead blamed his nephew, Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, for the shooting. Anderson died in a shooting two years after Tupac was killed.

Greg Kading is a retired Los Angeles police detective who was involved in investigating Tupac's death, and he said a total of four people were in the Cadillac that pulled up next to the vehicle that Tupac was in. The other three people who were in the car have already died, according to Kading. "Keffe D is the last man standing among the individuals that conspired to kill Tupac," Kading said, according to the Associated Press.

The Associated Press also reported that Davis' wife's house was searched by Las Vegas police earlier this year as part of their investigation of Tupac's death. The police found several .40-caliber bullets and other items during the search.
