Linda Evangelista No Longer Blames Herself For Disfiguring CoolSculpting Procedure

Healing is both a mental and physical process. From August 2015 to February 2016 Linda Evangelista underwent a procedure called CoolSculpting in which fat is frozen in order to reduce it. This medical method is marketed as a noninvasive liposuction substitute. Linda’s procedure resulted in the model's fat cells growing bigger, an uncommon side effect.

The change in Linda’s body resulted in depression and shame. She opened up to People that she has since worked through these emotions and no longer blames herself.

Linda has worked hard to process her emotions. "How people feel about me still bothers me a little bit, but it used to bother me a lot. I know now that I didn’t do anything wrong," she explained. "For the longest time I thought I did."

Linda sued Zeltiq Aesthetics, the company that owns CoolSculpting, but ended up settling for an undisclosed amount.

She draws strength from the public support she received when sharing her story. "I’m not completely rid of it, but I work hard at getting rid of the guilt and the shame," she went on to say. "And I’m not letting it ruin my life. I wouldn’t have stayed locked up if I’d known how many people cared.”

In 2022 Linda said: "I hope I can shed myself of some of the shame and help other people who are in the same situation as me. That's my goal." It looks as if she is accomplishing this and will continue to heal and move forward with her life, one day at a time.
