Mark Cuban Slams Elon Musk: ‘Ready, Fire, Aim Is No Way To Govern’

Mark Cuban isn’t done with Elon Musk.

The Shark Tank billionaire unloaded on Musk in a new interview with The Hill.

Cuban slammed Musk’s efforts at cutting government through the Department of Government Efficiency, the new cost-cutting agency created by President Donald Trump.

“Elon’s approach to all this and as supported by President Trump, is ready, fire, aim,” Cuban said. “Ready, fire, aim is no way to govern, particularly when the you know what … rolls downhill onto the small- to medium-sized communities and cities where, all of a sudden, who knows how many people are losing jobs, who knows how many companies have to close because their grants have been cut, and who knows the impact on that community in terms of services they’re going to be able to offer, raising taxes, et cetera.”

Entrepreneur Cuban also had some advice for Democrats looking to mount an opposition to Trump and Musk.

Vandalizing Tesla vehicles isn’t part of the solution, Cuban said.

“I think blowing up Tesla dealerships and blowing up cars, that’s just wrong,” Cuban said. “That needs to stop immediately. That accomplished nothing.”

He said, “You’re not going to get people all of a sudden to turn on Donald Trump. But what you can do, as we’ve seen with some of the town halls, is get people to turn on some of Republican House members who have to make a really tough choice.”

Cuban said, “If their communities are being negatively impacted by the all-at-once cuts of DOGE and the impact of the tariffs … put the pressure on those House Republicans to make a choice: Either you support Donald Trump or you go against Donald Trump and say these tariffs and these cuts are awful for my town or you lose your job.”

He added, “And I think people in communities are going to care enough about themselves, their families and their own communities to take action and maybe vote.”

It’s not the first time that Cuban has lit into Musk and DOGE.

He last week said it was a mistake to make federal cuts without knowing if the cuts will save taxpayers more than they cost.
