Miley Cyrus Did Not Thank Dad Billy Ray In Her Grammy Acceptance Speech: ‘Anyone Else?’

Being a child of a celebrity is complicated. It gets worse when a person tries to follow in their famous parents' footsteps. Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus know this first hand. The father-daughter duo have a rocky relationship.

On Sunday, February 4, 2024, Miley took home the Grammy Award for record of the year for her song “Flowers.” She thanked many people during her acceptance speech. Billy Ray was not one of them.

Miley made a big effort to express her gratitude to "all the people that we love." Her relationship with her dad has been tense ever since the pair starred together on the hit Disney show Hannah Montana. It didn’t help when Billy Ray and her mom Tish divorced in 2022. Both parents remarried in 2023. It is believed there is a major rift between Miley and Billy Ray these days and her not mentioning him seems to substantiate the rumors.

The whole team behind Miley’s hit was onstage with her because this award recognizes the whole production of the track. Miley acknowledged "everyone that's standing on this stage right now Tom, Tyler, Michael, and Greg. Our teams, my team, Crush, Columbia, my mommy, my sister, my love, my main gays because look how good I look."

Miley even asked: "Anyone else? Your wife, your fiancée, all the people that we love. Thank you all so much."

She concluded: "I don't think I forgot anyone. But I might have forgotten underwear. Bye!"
