Donald Trump Is Complaining About Stephen Colbert And Jimmy Kimmel Again

Less than two weeks after President Donald Trump took to social media to celebrate the fact that “[Stephen] Colbert got fired,” he’s back at it again. On July 29, 2025, the president slammed Colbert once again and said that fellow late-night hosts Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon are “next.”

After Colbert announced CBS’ decision to cancel his show, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, on July 17, Trump took to his social media site Truth Social the following day to claim Colbert has no talent. In the same post, he threatened that Kimmel “is next” because he “has even less talent than Colbert.”

He double-downed on these assertions in his latest post about the comedians. This time, he claimed that he was not responsible for Colbert losing his late-night TV gig. “Everybody is saying that I was solely responsible for the firing of Stephen Colbert from CBS, Late Night. That is not true!” Trump claimed. “The reason he was fired was a pure lack of TALENT, and the fact that this deficiency was costing CBS $50 Million Dollars a year in losses — And it was only going to get WORSE!”

CBS’ parent company, Paramount, claimed that the decision to cancel Colbert’s show was “purely a financial decision.” However, many thought the decision might’ve been politically motivated. Just before the announcement, Colbert criticized the network for its settlement with Trump.

In his post, Trump went on to suggest Kimmel and Fallon will be the next late-night comedians to lose their jobs. “Next up will be an even less talented Jimmy Kimmel, and then, a weak, and very insecure, Jimmy Fallon,” he wrote. “The only real question is, who will go first?”

According to Trump, “television is a very simple business” and those who “get ratings” can “say or do anything.” He continued with, “If you don’t, you always become a victim. Colbert became a victim to himself, the other two will follow.”

Meanwhile, Kimmel shared a screenshot of Trump’s Truth Social post via Instagram. He used the post to promote Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? which he currently hosts. Kimmel captioned the screenshot with, “I know you’re busy Sharpie-ing the Epstein files, but this seems like a weird way to tell people to watch Matt Damon and Ken Jennings on an all-new Who Wants to Be a Millionaire tomorrow night at 8|7c on @ABC”
