Molly Ringwald And Daughter Mathilda Make Rare Joint Appearance In Coordinated Outfits

Molly Ringwald, best known for her work in 1980s teen dramas, has a different perspective these days. This mother of three is now on the receiving end of teen angst. On January 23, 2024, she attended the New York premiere for FX’s Feud: Capote vs. the Swans. She was joined on the red carpet by her 20-year-old daughter Mathilda Gianopoulos and husband Panio Gianopoulos. They left their 14-year-old twins Adele and Roman at home.

Mathilda is following in her mother’s acting footsteps. She is appearing in the upcoming film The Idea of You with Anne Hathaway. It took Molly a minute to wrap her head around that.

Molly and Mathilda looked stunning on the red carpet embracing their inner swans. Molly rocked a black-and-white Rodarte gown. Mathilda donned a black ensemble with sheer sleeves embellished with gold.

Mathilda had her fair share of teen moments growing up. When she was 16 years old, she threw a massive party at her parent’s house. Molly opened up about it to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show.

“It was like 200 people at our house — I’m not kidding,” Molly recalled. “The police arrived and my daughter, who evidently has seen too many ‘Law & Orders, told the police that they couldn’t come in without a warrant. But apparently the police just sort of said, ‘Get out of the way,’ and made everyone go home.”

Thankfully, Mathilda is now more focused on acting. Molly has mixed feelings about this and opened up about it to Mario Lopez on his podcast in 2021.

“Like most actors that have grown up in the business, I tried to discourage it as much as I could,” Molly explained. She eventually got on board.

“[I] just give her the tools to make her the best actress that she can possibly be. … It’s a hard business,” she went on to say. “I think she knows that … I think she’s going into it with her eyes open.”
