On December 23, 2023, Bobbie Jean Carter was found unresponsive in a Tampa, Florida home. She was transported to the hospital where she was declared dead. She was the sibling of pop stars Aaron and Nick Carter and was 41 years old at the time of her passing.
The Carter family has had more than their fair share of tragedies. Nick Carter took to Instagram on January 5, 2024, to pay tribute to this late sister and process it all. Of the five Carter siblings, only he and Angel are alive today.
“It may take a lifetime to fully process the loss my family has endured over the years – most recently, with the sudden passing of our sister Bobbie Jean. I am completely heartbroken,” Nick wrote. His words were accompanied by a childhood photo of him and Bobbie Jean.
Nick is grateful for the support of his fans. He is reminded yet again that life is a gift. “Thank you for all your love and kind words. We are reminded again that life is precious, fleeting and to cherish the time we have with the ones we love. I know she is finally at peace with God. I love you BJ,” he concluded.

Nick is no stranger to grief. His sister Leslie Carter overdosed in 2012 at age 25. His brother Aaron Carter accidentally drowned in his bathtub in November 2022 at age 34. He was under the influence of difluoroethane and alprazolam. Nick’s father, Bob Carter, died in 2017 of a heart attack.
