Corporal Connor Brian Fleming, known to a lot of his friends and colleagues as CB, had been a Virginia police officer for over 15 years. He worked for the South Hill Police Department and led a fairly normal life. He had been married for several years and was the father of two little girls whom he adored.
As a police officer who often patrolled rough neighborhoods, Cpl. CB always tried to come from a place of kindness with practically everyone who crossed his path. He always wanted the citizens of South Hill to feel like the police force was there to help them.
One day, Cpl. CB was called to the area of a suspected gas leak at the Mecklenburg Manor apartment complex. According to ABC News, the police department is often dispatched to fire calls to help out the volunteer fire department and report any pertinent information.
The news outlet reports that after it was found to be a false alarm, Cpl. CB took a look around and decided to play with some of the local kids. South Hill Police Chief Stuart Bowen told ABC News that Cpl. CB is “just [that] kind of person.”
One of the mothers in the neighborhood, Iesha Roper-Boswell, spoke to CBS 6 News and told them that she thinks Cpl. CB is “awesome” as she captured video footage of the police officer lying down on the ground with her daughter and friends to play with some dolls after the incident and posted it on social media.

Roper-Boswell told CBS 6 News that “people need [that] positivity” and seeing a police officer engage and even play with some of the neighborhood children helps kids to feel “less afraid” of cops.
