No matter where you are in life, it often pays to be mindful of your surroundings, because you never know when the time will come to help someone in need.
One early morning in November 2020, a schoolgirl named Zian spotted something unusual happening on the street outside of her home. As soon as she reached her house, she ran inside and told her older sister what she had witnessed.
It turns out that 11-year-old Zian saw a possible abduction take place in her Mitcham community in southwest London. Without wasting any time, Zian’s older sister Ashanti rushed outside to see if she could spot anything suspicious happening.
Ashanti immediately saw what her little sister had been referring to when she noticed a man walking with a little girl as he proceeded to cover her mouth. Ashanti decided to follow the pair and even asked the man what he was doing with the little girl.
According to Times Citizen, Ashanti decided to capture some video footage on her phone of the man. It was then that he got nervous and fled the scene.

Ashanti proceeded to comfort the little girl, who was visibly shaken by the experience.
Thanks to both Zian and Ashanti, who were both conscious of their surroundings and incredibly brave, the video that Ashanti captured of the abductor was posted to social media and led to the identification of the alleged abductor, 26-year-old Kaiden Nelson.
