“Bring Your Child to Work Day” is a fun tradition where a kid gets to learn more about their parent’s job. Some kids are luckier than others in this rite of passage. When your mom is a big Hollywood actress, her work comes with some perks. Reese Witherspoon brought her 20-year-old son Deacon Phillippe as her plus-one to the 2024 Golden Globes.
This was the young adult’s first award show. He looked dapper in his tux. Reese dazzled in a classic pink and black velvet Monique Lhuillier gown. She accessorized with a Tiffany & Co. diamond necklace.
Reese shares Deacon with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe. The family resemblance is strong. Since this was a new experience for him, Reese gave him some helpful advice in the form of a list. “Gum, hand sanitizer, and be nice to everyone,” she counseled.
Deacon was asked if he had a curfew that evening during a red carpet interview. He was ready with the perfect come back. “I’m following her tonight," pointing to his mom.

"She’s the party animal,” he continued. "I’m just gonna try to keep up.” Deacon is good looking and funny, it appears.
Reese is a proud mother of three. Reese shares Deacon and daughter Ava Phillippe with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe. The pair first met at Reese’s 21st birthday party in 1997. They were married two years later. Ava was born that same year and Deacon was born in 2003. Ryan and Reese separated in 2006 and their divorce was finalized in 2008.
Reese shares her 11-year-old son Tennessee with ex-husband Jim Toth. The pair began dating in 2010 after meeting at a party and were married the following year. In March 2023, they announced their separation. Their divorce was finalized in August 2023.
This isn’t Deacon’s first time in the headlines. He recently faced public backlash after sharing pictures of his New York apartment on social media. Many called him a “nepo baby.” He gave a tour to TikToker Caleb Simpson.
Deacon is currently studying music at New York University. His apartment even has its own recording studio. In 2020, he released his first single entitled “Long Run.” Mom was very proud and dubbed it the “song of the summer” when sharing it on Instagram.
Deacon appears to be following in his mother and father’s footsteps as well. In August 2022, he made his acting debut in the Netflix series Never Have I Ever. He guest starred as the character Parker. Time will tell what’s next for this young man.
