Roseanne Barr Claims Former Costar Sarah Gilbert ‘Stabbed Her In The Back’ On ‘The Talk’

Everyone remembers the beloved show Roseanne that aired on TV from 1988 to 1997. It gave the world a view of the average middle-class married couple trying to raise three kids. It brought many laughs and numerous quotable episodes. Back in 2018, the show got a reboot, but the events that followed were not expected by the show's fans.

Roseanne was created by Matt Williams and Roseanne Barr and aired on ABC. With the popularity of the show, the creators decided to bring it back to see the kids all grown up. Unfortunately, star Roseanne Barr was fired from her show after she went on an odd Twitter rant.

After Roseanne’s Twitter rant, her former costar and on-screen daughter, Sara Gilbert, decided to address what had happened. She said, “Roseanne’s recent comments about Valerie Jarrett, and so much more, are abhorrent and do not reflect the beliefs of our cast and crew or anyone associated with our show. I am disappointed in her actions, to say the least.”

After Sara’s statement, Roseanne blamed her former costar for the amount of backlash she received against her. The show Roseanne was then replaced with the show The Connors, which has been renewed for a sixth season. In the new show, they killed off the character of Roseanne.

Sara is also a cohost for the show The Talk and Roseanne felt that she used her spot on the show to continue to bash her and ruin her reputation.

Roseanne stated to Megyn Kelly on Megyn’s SiriusXM show, “It wasn’t enough that she stabbed me in the back and did what she did to me there, but then she would go on her talk show every day and talk about how shocked she was at my racism on top of it.”

Roseanne then told Megyn that Sara’s actions prompted her to call her. Roseanne recalled what she said to Sara: “You better shut you blankin’ mouth about me. I’m telling you, you better shut your effing mouth.” Roseanne claims that after that phone call, Sara did "shut her mouth."

Even though the reboot of Roseanne pulled in 18 million viewers when it premiered, it did not stop ABC from taking it off the air after Roseanne’s Twitter rant.
