It is not easy being a stepparent or biological parent who feels as if they are being replaced. Hopefully at the end of the day, having another person love your child can only be a positive thing. Salma Hayek and Linda Evangelista seem to understand this and have a mutual respect for each other.
Once Salma even cooked an entire Thanksgiving meal from scratch for Linda. Linda was sick and Salma did not want her to miss out. She did it all by herself.
Linda is gracing the cover of Vogue for the August 2023 issue. She shares the limelight with fellow iconic supermodels Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, and Naomi Campbell. During her interview, Linda gave a rare look into her and Salma’s relationship.
Linda is the mother of Augustin James who was born in 2006. Salma’s husband François-Henri Pinault is his father, making Salma a stepmom — a role she takes seriously.
“I was sick at Thanksgiving,” Linda recalled. “And Salma got on the plane with her daughter, came here, and made Thanksgiving dinner."

At first, Linda tried to dissuade Salma from coming. "I had told her that I wasn’t going to have Thanksgiving; I wasn’t feeling well. And she said, ‘Oh yes you are. I am coming.’ And poof, she was here,” Linda remembered.
Salma went all out. "She asked what I wanted — it was a very eclectic wish list," Linda went on to say. "I wanted her Mexican chicken with truffled potatoes. And she spent the day in the kitchen and cooked it herself. No help. The kids helped her at the end. She made a feast — a beautiful, beautiful meal."
Linda did not disclose who Augustin’s father was when he was first born in 2006. It was not until she sought child support in 2011 that the world discovered who his father was. Linda and François-Henri dated for about four months in 2005 and 2006.
In 2009, Salma and François-Henri got together. They were married that same year in Paris. In 2010, their daughter Valentina Paloma Pinault was born.
Given that their children are so close in age, it is nice to see the women get along and support each other. Linda hopes to continue to age gracefully in order to be around for her son.
“I don’t mind and I never did mind aging,” she explained. “Aging gets us to where we want to be, and that’s for me a long life. Kevyn Aucoin was so afraid of wrinkles and he never got them. I want wrinkles — but I Botox my forehead so I am a hypocrite — but I want to grow old. I want to watch my son grow into a fine young man. I just want to stick around.”
