Sandra Bullock's longtime partner, Bryan Randall, died on August 5, 2023, having been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis three years ago, according to People. In a statement to People, his family asked for privacy as they deal with their loss.
Sandra and Bryan met in 2015 when Bryan was a photographer for Sandra's son's fifth birthday party. A source told E! News that Bryan had moved in with Sandra by the following year. In a 2021 interview on Red Table Talk, Sandra described Bryan as a great parental figure, also calling him "a saint" and "the love of my life."
"It is with great sadness that we share that on Aug. 5, Bryan Randall passed away peacefully after a three-year battle with ALS," Bryan's family said in its statement to People. "Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request."
"We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours," they continued.
Though Sandra and Bryan were together for years, they were not interested in marriage.
"I don't need a paper to be a devoted partner and devoted mother," Sandra had said in 2021.

"He's the example I would want my children to have," she said in the same conversation. "I don't always agree with him and he doesn't always agree with me, but he is an example even when I don't agree with him."
Days prior to his death, Us Weekly had reported that Sandra and Bryan had spent some time apart and were then "on the rocks" after "a long cooling-off period."
