SlutWalk Organizer Amber Rose Now Supports Trump & Speaks At RNC

For some people, Amber Rose's speech at the Republican National Convention was completely unexpected. Sure, she shared that she was supporting Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election on Instagram in May, but many who have followed Amber for some time were left feeling like they had missed something.

Amber previously organized the Amber Rose SlutWalk, which was dedicated to "empowering women & LGBTQ+ community while ending sexual and social injustice, derogatory labeling & gender inequality ," according to its Instagram page. In addition to having organized the Amber Rose SlutWalk in Los Angeles, Amber is a television personality, rapper, author and OnlyFans model.

Amber called Trump an "idiot" in 2016, but now shares photos on social media in which she's wearing a MAGA hat.

Amber Rose is biracial. After Amber spoke at the Republican National Convention, MSNBC correspondent Joy Reid accused Trump's campaign of using Amber to "try to recruit young people of color."

Joy also brought up how Amber previously said that she's "not Black." "It's ironic that they were able to recruit this young woman who, you know, she's a racially ambiguous — I don't wanna say she's Black because she has said she's not," Joy said, reported Complex.

In an X post that was later deleted, Amber responded to what Joy had said, writing, "Hi @JoyAnnReid I’ve never said I wasn’t black I said I identify as biracial. I’m not going to invalid my white father to make you feel more comfortable. Stop being a race baiter ur president does enough race baiting for all of us."

During her speech, Amber said that "Trump and his supporters don’t care if you’re Black, white, gay, or straight."

Some were surprised by Amber's speech since she has been a vocal advocate for women's rights. Others were surprised because, like Trump's VP pick J.D. Vance, Amber did not support Donald Trump in 2016.

In 2016, she told The Daily Beast that she was "voting for Hillary [Clinton]."

"I don’t give a f—," Amber told the outlet at the time. "I love her, and always have. I feel like this is her time to just s— on everybody and be the powerful woman that she is."

At the time, she joked that she would leave the country if Trump won the 2016 election.

"I’m leaving the United States if [Trump] is elected," she told the outlet at the time. "F— it! I’m moving to Canada. It’s over."

But now, in 2024, she's vocally supporting Donald Trump to the point that she's speaking at the RNC. During her speech, she said that she "let go of my fear of judgment, of being misunderstood, of getting attacked by the left, and I put the red hat on too."

What made her rethink her stance? She said her dad helped inspire her to change her mind about Trump because she initially "believed the left-wing propaganda that Donald Trump was a racist."

"My father said, 'No, he's not.' And when I insisted, he said, 'Prove it,'" Amber continued in her speech.

In her speech, Amber also emphasized that she's a parent herself. "I’m a mother. My whole world revolves around providing for my children, keeping them safe and giving them an opportunity for a better life," she said, adding that "the best chance we have to give our babies a better life is to elect Donald Trump president."

After doing her own research, watching "all the rallies" and interacting with Trump's supporters, she said she realized "these are my people. This is where I belong."

Prior to her speech, Amber made it clear that she was supporting Trump by sharing a photo of her standing with Trump and his wife, Melania. "Trump 2024 ," she captioned the May 20 post.

Many of Amber's followers were confused.

One person commented on the post: "I’m confused, amber I thought you were for Women’s rights ??? Weird."

"D— Amber," another person wrote. "This is where I have to leave you. Sorry, but my life depends on it."

Others pointed out how Amber was an "outspoken feminist" yet decided to support "an anti-choice candidate" or, as one Instagram user put it, "the dude who said grab them by the….."

But Amber shared a video of her speech on Instagram as well, writing "Make America Great Again! @realdonaldtrump #Trump2024 Thanks Dad! ❤️."
