Sofia Richie and husband Elliot Grainge can’t wait to be parents. The model was absolutely glowing on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at the Warner Music Group Pre-Grammy Awards 2024 party. It was the couple’s first public outing since announcing they were expecting.
Sofia’s father, musician Lionel Richie, is happy for the lovebirds. He is already a grandpa to Nicole Richie’s two children, but you won’t catch him using that word. He prefers another moniker.
At the pre-Grammy party in Los Angeles, Sofia donned a Attersee blouse which goes for $1,095. It was chic, black, and exposed her shoulders. She paired it with black pants and black slingback heels. Accessories included a Hermès Kelly purse and black and gold earnings. Her hair was pulled back in a ponytail.
Lionel is excited for his daughter to become a mother and spoke out about it at the premiere of his new Netflix documentary The Greatest Night in Pop. “My baby is having a baby,” Lionel gushed to Entertainment Tonight. “And I’m so thrilled for Elliot and Sophia. They are just over the moon.”
He kind of wishes they would keep things but low key but he knows it's ultimately not his decision. He didn’t know Sofia and her music executive husband had shared the gender reveal on social media. "You know, there is no secret with those two,” he said laughing. “I keep saying, 'Keep it a secret, OK?' But yes, that's what's happening. I'm so happy." Sofia and Elliot are having a girl.

Lionel doesn’t like the name grandpa. "I'm Pop-pop," Lionel explained. "We don't get the 'grandpa,' yeah, that's a little deep. Pop-pop is where we're going."
