It is hard work traveling with a baby. The days leading up to the flight can be nerve-racking as well. The Levine family from New Jersey were anxious about their upcoming trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Thankfully 5-month-old Romey did great. She had a little help from the woman across the aisle.
Meegan Rubin, from Villanova, Philadelphia, was crocheting. Romey was fascinated by this. Meegan was so touched by this that she decided to make Romey her own hat. Meegan pulled this off in an hour. Romey’s parents were so touched by this stranger's kind gesture.
"[Romey] ended up taking a liking to this woman next to us and the woman was crocheting. Her hands were moving a million miles an hour and Romey was just obsessed with it," Kelly Levine, Romey’s mother, recalled to Good Morning America.
"I was sitting in the aisle and the baby was in the aisle so she was gazing at me the entire flight. I was working on a sweater," Meegan stated. "She was literally mesmerized by it."
Romey’s fascination inspired Meegan. She switched projects midflight to surprise Romey with a gift. "I was like, if I [don't] run out of this yarn and there's time, I'll do it, because I had the same color yarn as her little outfit," Meegan recalled. "I couldn't help it. I was like, this baby is getting something because she's too cute."

Kelly never saw this coming. "She ended up gifting us this beautiful beanie that she decided to make for [Romey] midflight. Never seen someone work so fast in my life. I had no idea it was for us," Kelly stated. "We thought, 'What a cool way to just do something nice for a stranger,' and in turn, light up everyone else's mood. It was such a selfless act."
Kelly shared this story on TikTok. Her post has been viewed over 7 million times.
Meegan plans to make more items for Romey calling her a “muse.” She was happy to connect with new friends.
