Lucas Anderson is the kind of person who you will likely never find losing his temper or being impatient with someone because it’s simply not in his nature. Even in those types of situations where things might get a bit heated or you’re prone to lose your cool due to a disagreement, Lucas tends to come at things with an exceptionally level head.
Lucas was a server at an uber-popular restaurant in Los Angeles, California. He never had dreams of serving food to people for a living, but when he turned 18, he had to find a job to help his family and this was the one he found.
Even though he always had plans of going to culinary school, Lucas’ job at the restaurant became a permanent one. His father died just after Lucas graduated high school and he had to help support his little brother.
During a hot summer’s day, Lucas was working his regular eight-hour shift at the popular Los Angeles eatery when a group of teenagers who were dining at on of his tables started to cause a ruckus. Lucas simply tried to push through his time with the table as he could tell they were young and celebrating a special occasion.
After the table settled up and finally left after being there for hours, Lucas went back over to help clear up and came across the tip. It was a measly $3, which was practically an insult considering how much food the table had ordered and how long they had spent in the restaurant.

Lucas found himself questioning the morals and attitudes of this next generation of young people as he cleared the table and shoved the tip in his pocket. The next week, Lucas went to his mailbox and was stunned to find a letter inside from the teens whom he had served the previous week.
