Kumail Nanjiani isn't sure about ghosts, but he does believe in aliens. To Whoopi Goldberg, this opinion did not seem radical — because she says aliens have already been among us for some time now. The topic came up when in conversation with Kumail on The View. The actor was on the show speaking about his role in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, which prompted cohost Sunny Hostin to ask him if he believes in ghosts.
He admitted that he doesn't know, as he's never experienced any encounter with a ghost. But he is more certain about believing in aliens.
Just not quite as certain as Whoopi Goldberg is.
Kumail explained that he thinks aliens are watching and waiting, but Whoopi believes they're already here.
“I think aliens are circling us, waiting for us to get it together so they can come on down," Kumail explained.

From his perspective, it seems like aliens don't think it's currently the right time to approach this planet because things are a bit messy at the moment.
"I think they're waiting for us to clean up a little bit so that they can come here and tell us we're really messing things up," Kumail joked.
But Whoopi was calm and quiet when she informed Kumail that aliens are actually already here. "They're already here," she stated matter-of-factly.
"They've been here for quite some time," she continued. Kumail asked Whoopi for more information about the alleged aliens that she says are already on Earth.
"What are they doing?" Kumail asked Whoopi. Whoopi responded with: "They're watching us."
Whoopi did not elaborate, but she has spoken about aliens in the past. In 2023, Whoopi had an interesting reaction to a congressional hearing on UFOs in that she was largely unfazed.
"I don't know why everybody else is so surprised. We're not the only ones in the universe. We're just not," she said at the time.
"There are more things in heaven and Earth that we are aware of, and we have to be aware of, because that is the nature of being an Earthling," she continued at the time.
