Conan O’Brien Told ‘That’s ’70s Show’ Actor Danny Masterson That He’d Be ‘Caught Soon’

Danny Masterson, the actor who starred in 'That '70s Show' as Steven Hyde, has been sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for rape. Once the news broke, an old clip resurfaced on social media that shows Conan O'Brien telling Danny Masterson that he would be caught soon. The 2004 clip from 'Late Night With Conan O'Brien' has caught people's attention after Masterson's sentencing.

A Los Angeles judge sentenced Masterson after hearing victim impact statements. The crimes happened in his home in the early 2000s. Masterson’s lawyer told the judge that Masterson's "life would be impacted by what you decide today."

"I know that you’re sitting here steadfast in your claims of innocence, and thus no doubt feeling victimized by a justice system that has failed you," the judge said. "But Mr. Masterson, you are not the victim here. Your actions 20 years ago took away another person’s voice, and choice. One way or another you will have to come to terms with your prior actions, and their consequences."

One of the women spoke about Masterson's lack of remorse. "I knew he belonged behind bars for the safety of all the women he came into contact with," she said to the judge. "I am so sorry, and I’m so upset. I wish I’d reported him sooner to the police."

In the old clip of Conan O'Brien and Masterson, the two men can be seen joking around with each other. Eventually, Conan says, "I've heard about you. And you'll be caught soon, I know you will."

"I will," Masterson responds.

It appears as though they were both right, though Masterson's sentencing came about 20 years later.
