While we all know that, technically, the Queen of England is the most beloved, enduringly popular member of the royal family, many royal enthusiasts love to see photos of the people who really keep the gears turning: the kids!
From photos of Princess Diana as a young child to throwbacks showing Prince William and Prince Harry being best friends to every little glimpse we get of Archie, the royal babies are beloved by millions of people all over the world.
Here are 30 photos of royal children being perfectly adorable, and you know there are approximately 30 million where those came from.
Prince George and Princess Charlotte go to school.
There is something pretty precious about seeing these little royals all dressed up in their sweaters and shorts/skirts and socks, is there not? It's always a cute day when the royal kiddos go to school, and Prince George and Princess Charlotte did not fail to delight.
Prince William helps out Prince Harry.
These two aren't really chopping it up these days, so it's extra cute to go back in time and see them working it out as the best of friends. Those little corduroy shorts and overalls are very nearly almost too much.
Prince George cheeses.
The family was all gathered to celebrate Prince Louis, but you know the future king just couldn't pass up an opportunity to really shine. Everyone else is focused on the camera or the baby, and Prince George is making sure he's lighting up the room with his smile. Precious.
Princess Charlotte is a relatable toddler.
If you've raised a teething child, you know exactly what is going on here. There's something nice about knowing that even royal babies dig their fingers around in their mouths no matter what, even when a camera is trained on them and hoping to get a good snap.
Prince George meets Princess Charlotte.
How much do we love a good "older sibling meeting a younger sibling" photo? Between the knee socks and the way Princess Charlotte's hand is placed on Prince George's arm, this photo is one that needs to be kept for ages.
Princess Charlotte nails the royal wave.
Princess Charlotte has been the darling of the royal family since pretty much birth, and it's not hard to understand why. From her sweet antics to the fact that she's absolutely nailed the royal wave, people just love to keep up with her.
Prince William is wild.
You know when you're trying and trying and trying to take a decent photo with the kids and one of them just won't participate? That's exactly what's going on here. Prince Harry is doing the "Don't worry, Mom, I've got you" routine, Princess Diana is giving the photographer "Can we stop already, please?" eyes, and Prince William is like "You know what? I'm going to roar."
Princess Charlotte sits demurely.
One of my favorite things about Princess Charlotte is that she is basically a tiny little Queen Elizabeth, just walking around and being all Elizabeth-y. This photo is a perfect illustration of that fact. Look at the ladylike vibes!
Princess Charlotte nails the royal wave, again.
Here's more evidence that Princess Charlotte was truly born for this role. There really might be something to the idea that the second-born child wants the crown more — we all know Princess Margaret yearned to be queen, but we don't yet know how Princess Charlotte feels about it.
Prince William replicates a photo of Princess Diana.
It's always extra adorable when parents try to replicate photos from their own childhoods, and this snap of Prince William with his kids definitely calls to mind William's own roaring photo. Princess Charlotte is even nailing Prince Harry's look!
Prince George shows he can cheese with the best of them.
Prince George may well have been born smiling wide. He has always had the cutest, most open smile, and you can practically hear the "cheeeeeese" behind this one. Bonus points: that collar! I die!
Princess Diana, Prince William, and Prince George coordinate.
Few things bring on the feels like a photo of Princess Diana and her kids doing the same thing. Throwing a grandchild into the mix is a great gift — it's super cute to see the similarities that these three share.
Archie shines.
Archie is one of the cutest babies to exist in the entire history of the world (source: me), so it's not a surprise that every single baby photo of him that we've been gifted has been the most adorable baby photo. While we understandably don't get many photos of him these days, it was always clear what a bright, engaged infant he really was.
August is born.
In all the royal hubbub and news that's come out in the last year or so, it can be hard to remember that other members of the family are also having babies! Princess Eugenie recently gave birth to her first child, little August.
August hangs out with flowers.
Princess Eugenie is definitely leaning into cute baby clothing and accessories, and we love it. Those little rabbit booties are the perfect footwear for an outing with flowers, and August looks cozy as all get-out.
Louis just looks adorable.
Prince Louis is the Cambridge child who really looks the most like his mom and her family, which is really sweet to see. He also seems like he's calm and just down for the ride, which could be the benefit of not having a lot of royal weight on this shoulders. Either way, this sweater + Prince Louis = a big win.
Prince Louis rides a bike.
You see what I mean? Look at this nearly totally regular kid, just having fun riding his bike to school. He's happy, the bike is great, and the weather looks nice. Prince Louis is ready for his day, and he's thrilled to share it with us all.
Prince William is a baby.
Prince William was a super-adorable baby, and he definitely inherited his father's family genes. You can see so much of his grandmother and his daughter in his very own face. It's also really sweet to see the delight that Princess Diana is taking in her firstborn.
Archie bundles up.
When Prince Harry and Meghan released this photo of Archie, the world of royal news followers collectively took a big breath and let out a shriek of delight. Archie's little coat, hat, and shoes are precious, and it was so nice to see Prince Harry so happy and at ease.
Princess Charlotte is over it.
Listen, princess life isn't all it's cracked up to be, OK? Sometimes, you just need a break. Unfortunately for Princess Charlotte, that break isn't always easy to come by, and she just has to keep pushing on.
Archie joins the fam.
Adding a new baby to a family is always an exciting thing, and Archie's arrival and christening was no different. This family photo is definitely one for the history books, especially given everything that has come to light in recent months.
Prince Louis is adorable.
I know that I've waxed poetic about Princess Charlotte quite a few times already, but Prince Louis is really such a little ball of sunshine. You can tell that he delights his entire household on the regular, just by being his sweetest self.
Princess Charlotte is distracted by Granny.
This is one of my all-time favorite photos of members of the royal family because it's so charmingly human. While everyone is busy hamming it up for the camera like they're meant to, Princess Charlotte is all about one lady: her great-grandmother. Happily, Queen Elizabeth is just as into her.
Prince George hangs out with Prince Philip.
It's truly a special thing to have great-grandparents who are able to have relationships with their great-grandchildren. Luckily, all three of Prince William and Kate Middleton's children met their great-grandfather before he died this year. Prince George had a special bond with him and liked to travel around in his carriage.
Princess Charlotte looks just like her grandmother.
I've said it once, and I'll say it again: Princess Charlotte is such an adorable carbon copy of Queen Elizabeth, and it's so evident in her baby photos. There's a hefty dose of Prince William in there, too, which makes this photo even cuter.
Prince George is over it.
Prince George demonstrates yet again that he can really take or leave this royal nonsense. Clearly, he's not even sure what he's supposed to be looking at, or why exactly all these people have gathered to make such a fuss about his family.
Princess Charlotte collects gifts.
I really love when royal children are old enough to begin understanding their place in the grand scheme of things, and it's really fantastic that Prince William and Kate bring the kids along to greet the public. I especially love that the kids often end up carrying the gifts they receive themselves, which is no small order for a young child.
Prince George wears a backpack.
Listen: This photo absolutely slays! That little quilted coat! His tiny backpack! Prince George is the cutest preschooler on the streets in this photo. Everything that's happening in this photo is flawless preschooler energy.
Prince William tries to solve a puzzle.
Puzzles and games are something we all loved as children, and the royal children are no exception. How cute is Prince William trying to solve this puzzle in his youth?
Princess Diana slays.
One of my favorite things about Princess Diana is that she always seemed to have a certain vibe about her, even as a young child. In this photo with her brother, she seems equal parts sweet, innocent, kind, and a little devil-may-care.
