Alex Rodriguez is showing ex-fiancée Jennifer Lopez that she's not the only one who can spend time with an ex.
At least, that's what fans think is behind A-Rod's recent shout-out to ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis. Cynthia and Alex were married from 2002 to 2008 and share daughters Natasha and Ella.
Alex shared a photo where he and Cynthia were working out together and she's helping him wrap his knee. He captioned it: "Cynthia is a world class mommy to our girls…wrapping ice though?!?!?! LOL."
The former couple had a tumultuous split of their own, though Alex has talked about circumstances between them improving in recent years.
Alex admitted that co-parenting with Cynthia "takes some navigating" on the Raising the Bar podcast.
"When I want to do things at Christmas with the girls, I may start asking for, not permission, but proactively in July I may be talking about Christmas, versus if I was in a different state of mind, I would drop it December 15 and say, 'Hey, Cynthia, can I have the kids?'" he explained.
"So it's been a really, really nice experience for us. I'm very friendly with [Cynthia's husband] Angel, he's wonderful with my girls. I think having four good people at the table, well, three good people and me."
Fans think the timing of this goodwill gesture may be a little too convenient, as Alex's ex, Jennifer Lopez, has been making headlines after reuniting with Ben Affleck. Hopefully, for Alex's children's sakes if nothing else, it's genuine friendliness between two people who once shared something great.
