Many people don't think about it, but switching from a bottle or a sippy cup to a regular cup is a challenge for some children.
Bottles and sippy cups are great for little kids — children automatically know how to drink out of them, they don't break, and they're hard to spill. But at some point, children need to learn how to drink out of regular cups, otherwise they'd look ridiculous as adults.
Most children are excited when their parents finally let them drink out of "grown-up" cups, but that doesn't necessarily mean they'll be good at it. In fact, many kids spend years pouring drinks all over themselves, ending up with milk mustaches, and just generally making a mess.
Parents usually assume their kids won't make a big deal out of switching to a normal cup, but kids are full of surprises.
One family recently had a hilarious experience when they let their baby daughter drink out of an unusual cup. They put water in a graduated cylinder, like you might find in a science class, and held it out to their baby.
When she saw it, though, she reacted in complete shock, her draw dropping and her eyes bulging. Her parents were blown away by her reaction — watch why they couldn't stop laughing!
