Barry Farmer is a loving father to three young adopted boys who didn't have a family to call their own.
In the beginning, strangers would stop and stare in disbelief because Farmer has a different skin color than his kids, Farmer said in an interview with WRIC.
But, the loving dad stresses that family isn't about skin color. The Farmers know that family is about loving one another, and being there for each other.
When Farmer was just 21 years old, he knew he wanted to raise a child that didn't have anyone else to do that. The now 28-year-old has always been a nurturer, and it's just in his heart to be a father.
After fostering his first child, he knew he wanted to take it a step further. It's clear what a difference he's made in these children's lives.
Darrell, 14, described the moment that Farmer asked him to be his son forever: "Dad was like, ‘Can I be your dad forever?’ And I was like, ‘You already are.’ And that is how I came to stay here. I was in this dark spot at first and then he just comes in the picture. And everything’s all right.”
Through this video below, it's clear Farmer has completely flipped these three boys' lives around for the better. He gave them a family when they had no one to lean on.
