‘7th Heaven’ Star Beverley Mitchell Welcomes Third Child Following Her 2018 Miscarriage Of Twins

Beverley Mitchell, who starred as Lucy on 7th Heaven, has welcomed her third child with her husband, Michael Cameron. Beverley shared that she gave birth to a daughter, Mayzel Josephine, in a post on Instagram this weekend:

“Happy to share with the world our sweet little girl, Mayzel Josephine. @littlemissmayzie has captured our hearts and we couldn’t love her more! Thank you @lingerphotography for the great images and @minted for the announcement! I love an old fashioned #birthannouncement and for @usweekly for helping us share with the world. We are over the moon and soaking up so the cuddles and showering her with kisses!”

Beverley also shared that she and Michael came up with Mayzel’s name “months and months ago” and that they both love it. “As soon as he said it, I was pretty locked on it. … When we met her, it was very clear that she was our little Miss Mayzel. She’s our Mayzie baby. It’s pretty fitting.”

It turns out that Mayzel's older siblings, Kenzie and Hutton, are over the moon about their new sister. "They promise to protect her and take care of her. Kenzie already reads books to her every night. … Hutton just attacks her and has to be in her face all the time. He literally will not stop giving her kisses."

Beverley shared back in March that she and her husband were expecting their third child:

"We finally got our gold at the end of the rainbow!!!! We are pregnant with our rainbow baby! … The road hasn't always been easy but it is so worth it! It has been far but scarier this time around but just got a great checkup so we are feeling lucky! Not going to lie I may have peed on quite a few sticks because I couldn't honestly believe it! But sure enough they all said PREGNANT."

Beverley and Michael were devastated by the miscarriage of their twins in 2018. She wrote extensively about the experience, sharing a lot of detail with her fans:

"Honestly, my first instinct was to say I was fine, and to be honest; I was trying to be. I thought I had to be, for my family, for myself … Though it made sense in my head, my heart could not make sense of it."

"I never really considered that I would miscarry being that I had already had two healthy pregnancies. This was my misconception, you see, I didn't know much about miscarriages and I didn't know many people who had miscarried, or so I thought."

However, months later Beverley credited her husband with helping her recover and recuperate following the loss: "Today I celebrate my gratitude to Michael for being my rock, my best friend, my soul mate, my everything. I am incredibly grateful for my rock of a husband who had patience while I worked through the gammot of emotions."

Beverley has also become a bit of an advocate for encouraging others to open up about pregnancy loss: "No one should suffer in silence. To speak up and share your wounds, to allow them the opportunity to heal. Let's remove the stigma, miscarriages happen, they are nothing to be ashamed of."

Since announcing Mayzel's birth, Beverley has been unable to stop gushing about the family's newest addition. She shared a second photo on Instagram, writing, "A proud family of 5!!!! Wow, never in my wildest dreams would I have predicted this growing up! I met my soul mate, Michael and we have created the most amazing family! My hearts."

She and Michael also run separate Instagram accounts for all three of their children, and each account has been updated with news of Mayzel's birth. In fact, Mayzel already has her very own account! The family shared this photo of the baby with her siblings, aka her "protectors."

Beverley and Michael knew that they wanted more children after losing their twins in 2018, and Beverley even began to look at the miscarriage as something that could be positive:

"As much as it sucks, I feel like, for me, there was a lesson there, and I'm taking it to heart because … I always have to see that life is a journey and that there's a reason for it. … As weird as it sounds."

Michael also added that at the time, the two were definitely open to anything: "If it's in the cards for us to have more kids, then we absolutely will have more kids and if it's not, we are so blessed with these two little angels and I can't say that I'm missing anything in my life."
