‘7th Heaven’ Star Beverley Mitchell Is Pregnant Again After Miscarrying Her Twins Two Years Ago

In happy news, 7th Heaven alum Beverley Mitchell is pregnant again! She has shared with fans that she is pregnant with her third child.

In a post shared on Instagram, the actress writes, "We finally got our gold at the end of the rainbow!!!! We are pregnant with our rainbow baby! … The road hasn’t always been easy but it is so worth it! It is has been far but scarier this time around but just got a great checkup so we are feeling lucky! … Not going to lie I may have peed on quite a few sticks because I couldn't honestly believe it! But sure enough they all said PREGNANT."

Beverley and her husband Michael are parents to two children, daughter Kenzie, 6, and son Hutton, 5. In 2018, she shared that she had miscarried twins. The experience was harrowing and intensely emotional for her, and she made the choice to open up about it in a bid to help others who have experienced the same thing.

Beverley explained on her website Growing Up Hollywood that she never thought something like a miscarriage would happen: "This was a shock. Honestly, my first instinct was to say I was fine, and to be honest; I was trying to be. I thought I had to be, for my family, for myself. I had to jump on a plane and go to work being surrounded by babies and kids while I was still miscarrying."

She went on to write that it took time for her to wrap her head around what was happening: "Though it made sense in my head, my heart could not make sense of it. I never really considered that I would miscarry being that I had already had two healthy pregnancies. This was my misconception, you see, I didn’t know much about miscarriages and I didn’t know many people who had miscarried, or so I thought."

She and her husband were able to begin healing after finding out that they knew so many people who had experienced miscarriage, and especially after people shared their stories online: "It wasn’t until I started sharing our loss that I found out many people I knew shared the same scars. I was now part of a group, the unspoken and hidden group who mourn their losses in the shadows."

"Every time I shared what we were going through I made people uncomfortable, no one ever knows what to say, and to be honest, there is nothing to say. Most people who are sharing their story, we aren’t looking for anything just the opportunity to share their story. It is with sharing it that the healing begins, the acceptance that it happened, it is when you ignore it or pretend that it never happened that you cause more pain."

This devastating experience probably helps Beverley realize how fortunate she is to be pregnant again. People often call a baby conceived after a miscarriage a "rainbow baby." The name comes from the idea that there's a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, and rainbows come after rain. So in other words, a hard experience can lead to a good one, in the end.

Beverley and Michael got married in October 2008 in Ravello, Italy. They met at a mutual friend's party while both were in college in 2000. The story goes that Michael was actually involved in a small physical dispute and ended up with a black eye, which Beverley nursed with a bag of frozen peas. "I was his knight in shining armor. I knew then that we'd be together forever."

The two dated for five years and then moved to Colorado together. Michael proposed to Beverley on New Year's Eve in 2005.

They invited 104 guests to their 2008 wedding and had a fun theme for the reception. Beverley shared, "Each table was named after one of our favorite romantic movies."

Several of Beverley's former costars attended the wedding, including Jessica Biel and her then-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake. Jessica was actually part of the wedding party, serving as one of Beverley's bridesmaids. The two were still a long way from their own 2012 wedding, but photos that surfaced of the pair at the wedding are pretty sweet.

Beverley and Michael welcomed their daughter, Kenzie, in 2013. They didn't choose her name until after they met her, but they had a few options picked out. Beverley explained to Us Weekly, "We want to meet her first. I already know she's got tons of personality in there, because she's definitely an active one: turns, kicks, jabs, the whole nine yards!"

Beverley was also very open about the fact that a lot of her friends were also about to have babies, so Kenzie would have a lot of playmates: "I'm actually the first one out of my closest friends to have a baby, but I've got a few right behind me: JoAnna Garcia, Jenna Dewan, Jamie-Lynn Sigler. Hopefully I'll have a lot of tips for them. They'll see how I get along and then we'll figure it out."

Their son, Hutton, was born two years later in 2015. She wrote on Instagram, "Kenzie is proud to announce the arrival of her sweet baby brother, Hutton! Thank you for all the love and well wishes!"

She also opened up about motherhood, sharing, "[It’s] definitely a trip. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done! It’s amazing how your life gets shifted. You think you’ve got life figured out and you’ve got a great perspective, you have a child and then you’re like, ‘Okay, none of that stuff matters!'"
