There's a modest school located in Little Rock, AR, that's currently being discussed all over social media, and for one big reason.
"Welcome to Catholic High," they state on their Facebook page. "We teach reading, writing, arithmetic, and problem-solving."
Pretty standard procedure for a school, right? That’s when things get interesting. Along with this innocent welcome post, the school released an image that has sparked controversy across the web.
The topic of discussion, however, isn't new by any means.
Many moms and dads have been criticized for what’s known as "helicopter parenting." It’s a catch-all term for overbearing behavior, which can be detrimental to the growth of one’s child if they’re never allowed to make any mistakes on their own.
It seems as though this school feels similarly and wishes to reinforce this belief by ensuring that the young boys who attend their facility do learn the meaning of hard work and discipline — but there's a catch.
"We put a sign up on the front door to not only alert new parents to the policy, but to remind people why we do it," Principal Steve Straessle said to KARK-TV.

The Catholic High School for Boys has always upheld strong principles when it comes to their young charges. This inspirational image was shared recently on their Facebook page. It reads: "Come, boys, so that you may become men."
As any parent knows, it isn't easy raising kids to be upstanding citizens in society, but it looks as though this school is dedicated to doing exactly that. The way in which they've chosen to succeed in that endeavor, however, is what's been ruffling feathers.
This is no young establishment by any means. For a bit of a refresher on their long and storied history, "Catholic High School for Boys was founded by Bishop John B. Morris of the Diocese of Little Rock in 1930."
That’s more than three-quarters of a century! If anyone knows how to raise young boys to become men, I think we can be rest assured that it’d be them.
Even then-President Clinton and Pope John Paul II stopped by for a visit! They're speaking with the late principal Father George Tribou. It's said that Clinton stated, "This is the best educator in my home state, if not the whole country."
That's some pretty high praise, and one that says a lot about the incredible history of this school.
But with the new school year just around the corner, educators are anticipating the front of this building will be jam-packed with bus drivers and carpooling parents dropping their kids off. But what if their young boys forget their lunch? Or homework? Or jacket?
Principal Steve Straessle anticipated this and has already posted a sign on the door that has gained national attention. There’s a new rule in this school, and it hasn’t made every parent happy.
Beneath a glaring red STOP sign, the text reads: "If you are dropping off your son's forgotten lunch, books, homework, equipment, etc., please TURN AROUND and exit the building. Your son will learn to problem-solve in your absence."
This may, at first, appear like a hard stance in regard to an innocent mistake, but this simple rule has gone viral for many reasons. Over 117,171 people shared the image as of this writing, and a whopping 3,700 comments — and counting! — have accumulated underneath it.
