Daughter Expects To Find Peeled Oranges In Lunch, But Discovers Note From Dad With Instructions

Meg Sullivan and her dad have an unbreakable bond and a tradition to call their own. Ever since Meg could remember, her dad always packed her lunches and included peeled oranges inside.

The peeled oranges quickly became their thing, and her devoted dad continued this practice all the way through Meg's high school career. To them, it was more than jut a prepared snack.

"My dad and I are really close and have bonded an incredible amount over the last four years because it's just he and I living together," Meg explains. "So we only have each other, but that's all we really need."

Their tradition was something all their own, but on her last day of high school, Meg opened up her lunch bag to find something else.

Meg and her father share a special tradition. It was something that started when she was just a little girl, and it carried on all the way through high school.

Meg explains, "So my dad has been making my lunches for as long as I can remember, and he always peeled the oranges for me."

Along with the peeled oranges, her dad started leaving little notes in her lunches when she started attending high school.

Then, their relatives took notice of their long-running tradition.

"Sometime last year my family started making fun of my dad for taking the time to peel my oranges for me even though I was 17 years old and completely capable," Meg says.

Then, everything changed on Meg's last day of high school. Instead of finding her usual peeled oranges, she found this instead.

It says, "It's time baby girl," with a frowny face underneath.

When Meg unfolded the note, she saw instructions showing how to peel oranges. Her dad found the perfect way to help his daughter out while making her laugh during her last school lunch.

When it comes to taking care of his daughter, this dad says, "There are a lot of big things you do as a parent to show your kids you love them, but it's about the little things as well."
