Couple Donates Six Leftover Embryos To Mother

Angel and Jeff Watts were fortunate enough to successfully use IVF to conceive. The couple has two sets of healthy twins, but they also had six embryos that they had no plans on using. The Watts didn't want to destroy the embryos, so they used Facebook to find a couple who needed them.

That's when they met Rayn and Richard Galloway, a young couple who could not conceive. They didn't know them, but when the two couples met, they felt an instant connection. Angel and Jeff decided they would implant their embryos into Rayn. To many outsiders, the arrangement seemed strange.

This embryo would biologically be Angel and Jeff's, but would legally be raised by Rayn and Richard. It's almost like arranging for an adoption before the child is even born. That is very much how the Watts see it, although the law doesn't quite see it that way yet. While many may not be comfortable with the idea of their biological child being raised by others, the plan just made sense for them all. The families plan on remaining close.

"She is giving me that gift," Rayn said. "The least I can do is let her have a relationship, let her see those children and have a relationship for her own children's sake."
