It started as a Facebook campaign with one goal: to help cheer up Alexus Lasiter. The 7-year-old suffers from cerebal palsy, seizures, Asperger syndrome, and heart problems. It's overwhelming, to say the least.
After suffering from a bladder infection, her parents asked an artist to draw a horse for her. Alexus is such a huge horse lover that they thought it would surely cheer her up. But not only did the artist refuse payment, he also started a Facebook page, "Horses for Lex," in hopes of having other artists do the same. But the Facebook page led to so much more!
According to the Equine Chronicle, “What first began as a simple request for horse-related artwork quickly evolved into something much larger. People from all over the world began to learn more about Lex’s journey and the inspiring attitude she maintains in the face of adversity. Then, Wathena came into contact with Becky Ann Ross, the owner of Alpha Boarding Complex in Riverview, Florida. Ross decided that Lex needed much more than just drawings and painting of horses; she needed her own real-life version! “’Becky Ann Ross donated Snickerdoodle to Lex, and we ended up going all the way to Florida to meet him,’” Wathena [Lex’s mom] says.”
See for yourself what came from this simple act of kindness; your heart will surely be warmed!
Please SHARE this precious girl and her new best friend with all of your friends and family!
When Lex met a 20-year-old Appaloosa named Snickerdoodle, she not only transforms physically into a capable horseback rider, but their immediate bond was clear to Lex's entire family.
