Karsyn Long of Lincoln, Illinois, and her boyfriend, Kristian Helton, had been seeing each other since July 4, 2015. As time marched on, the blissful couple learned more and more about each other. Eventually, Kristian realized just how much of a McDonald's McNugget enthusiast his girlfriend was.
In the video below, posted on February 16, 2017, Kristian jokes, "Her love for chicken nuggets, I'm sure, is more than she loves me."
An embarrassed Karsyn explains, "I know this sounds bad, but I go to McDonald's a lot. I always get chicken nuggets. I will never… I won't get anything else."
One day, she decided to get McDonald's with Kristian. He handed her the McNugget box she was craving, knowing that this wasn't going to be an ordinary meal.
When she opened the cardboard box that cradled her precious chicken nuggets, she was shocked. Tucked inside one of the crispy chunks of chicken was a shiny diamond ring.
"She has devoted her life to chicken nuggets, so that had to be part of the engagement. I mean, it was just a given," Kristian says. He continues, " I put the ring in the chicken nugget box, and I used the chicken nugget box as a ring box, kind of, and opened it like that and wrote, 'Will You McMarry Me?' in it and she was pretty excited — I think more about the chicken nuggets, but…"
Thankfully, the chicken nuggets proposal went over extremely well with his now fiancée.
In the end, Kristian leaves us with one solid piece of advice. He says, "If you have a chicken nugget-loving girlfriend, that's how you should propose to her."
