Katharine McPhee Abruptly Leaves Tour With Husband Due To ‘Horrible Tragedy’ In Family

Katharine McPhee will not be performing at the last two shows on the David Foster & Friends Asia Tour 2023. The singer posted a statement on her personal Instagram account explaining that due to a family tragedy, she would not be able to perform. She did not say what happened. McPhee, 39, the singer and actress who was a runner-up on American Idol, is married to musician and record producer David Foster, 73. They have one child together; Katharine gave birth to their son Rennie in 2021.

Katharine did not share what happened, writing: "It's with heavy heart I announce I have to miss our final 2 shows of our Asia run. David and I have had a horrible tragedy in our family and at least one of us needs to get back home to our family."

Katharine was set to appear as a special guest alongside her husband for the final two shows of the tour. People reported that David will continue to perform. The two shows are scheduled for August 11 and 12 in Jakarta.

"Please know how sorry I am and how much I wish to return one day and perform for you all," Katharine wrote in her post.

The tour previously had stops in Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. The North American leg of David Foster and Katharine McPhee's tour is set to begin in November.
