There's no such thing as "normal" when you're a member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan. Still, it threw Kendall Jenner for a loop when she discovered that little sister Kylie was the latest family member with a baby on the way. “It’s obviously a bit weird that your little sister is having a baby before you. I didn’t expect it to happen like this. But it’s beautiful,” she said of the bombshell pregnancy in an interview with Elle.
The birth of Stormi, which came shortly before Khloé Kardashian gave birth to baby True, leaves Kendall as the only member of that side of the family who's childless. Even her older Jenner siblings all have children, with the exception of Brody Jenner, who just tied the knot this spring. However, while the international supermodel is completely happy being Aunt Kenny and making decisions at her own pace, she's still thrilled for Kylie and loves watching her be a mom to Stormi.
Kendall and Kylie Jenner have been pretty much inseparable all of their lives.
The sisters are just a year and a half apart in age. In an interview with Seventeen, Kendall once said that Kylie brings out the best in her!
Fans have loved watching the two grow up on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Their silly, sweet bond is serious #sistergoals, all while showing the kind of bickering anyone with a sibling has been through.
While the sisters' bond has always been tight, Kendall has always acknowledged that there's something about her that sets her apart from all of her famous sisters. "I've always been the different one. I mean, I'm a girl and I like being a girl, but I've just never been into it like they have," she told Harper's Bazaar.
As they've navigated their way through the teen years and into adulthood, their interests have taken them in different directions. The two still have a clothing line together, but while Kendall rocks runways around the world, Kylie is building her cosmetics empire.
Despite all the different projects different members of the family have going on at any given time, the sisters still spend quite a bit of time together.
Kendall and Kylie have always been very close with their sisters' kids in particular, excited to usher the next generation into the madness and wonder of it all.
"Me as a mom," Kendall joked in this Instagram picture featuring Kourtney Kardashian's youngest son, Reign. Ironically, Kendall is the last holdout on the mom front.
Last fall, rumors took over the internet that Kylie Jenner was expecting her first child. At the same time, Kylie disappeared off her very active social media channels.
She reemerged in February, announcing the birth of her little girl (with rapper Travis Scott), Stormi Webster.
While it took Kendall a while to digest the idea of her little sister as a mom, she was also excited. "It’s not that it’s more exciting than any other births in the family — it’s different exciting, because she’s my baby sister who I grew up with," she told Vogue just after Stormi's birth.
She went on to explain why both Stormi and Kylie are so special to her. "We all grew up in twos: Kourtney and Kim grew up together, Rob and Khloé, Brandon and Brody, Burton and Casey, and then Kylie and I. So to see my best friend growing up have a baby? It’s already made us even closer."
Aunt Kenny is already feeling that unique bond with Stormi, as she explained to People during a recent celebrity poker tournament. "I love all of my nieces and nephews — I like that I can give them back,” she joked. “But I do feel… a really special connection to Stormi.”
And in an interview with People, Ms. Jenner revealed what her little sister is like as a brand-new mother — who's not able to drink legally yet: "More power to Kylie, man," Kendall said. "She is built for this. She is an incredible mom."
It's sweet to see that Kylie and Kendall's special bond expands to Kylie's daughter. "I don’t know if it’s that Kylie is my little sister, but I was hanging out with her the other day at lunch, and we were just sitting, and [Stormi] was just so comfortable with me, and it made me so happy."
Despite all the questions and rumors surround Kendall's own private life, she continues to keep to herself. While she's been linked to a few different guys over the years, Kendall maintains that she's not as upfront about relationships as her sisters, but she will be when there's someone special in it for the long run. It's no surprise that kids aren't quite on her radar yet. "There are parts of me that go in and out of [wanting a baby], but I am so okay right now just to live my life. Maybe I’ll have a kid in a couple of years."
