Do you remember Knut, the baby polar bear whose cuteness took the world by storm back in 2007?
Well, the world's most famous polar bear is now a big brother! And from the looks of these first photos, the cuteness gene was definitely passed on…
Knut was a baby polar bear who was rejected by his mother at birth but became the most beloved attraction at the Berlin Zoological Garden in Germany. People travelled all over to see Knut before he tragically died at only four years old.
Now, four years later, Knut's father and his mate, Vilma, gave birth to another healthy baby boy at the Rostock Zoo this past December. Although Knut's baby half-brother, who has yet to be named, won't be able to leave his den until March, people from all over are anticipating meeting the tiny snowball, just like they did during "Knutmania."

Back in 2007, the world fell in love with Knut, a baby polar bear at the Berlin Zoological Center in Germany. Nearly 10 years later, we meet Knut's baby half-brother!

After 10 years with no polar bear births, the Rostock Zoo staff was overjoyed when polar bears Lars (Knut's father) and Vilma gave birth to the healthy baby boy on December 6, 2014.

Now Knut's baby brother needs a name. If you have any great ideas, email them to presse@zoo-rostock.de by March 10, 2015!
