‘Bachelor’ Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s Wife Lauren Watched His Vasectomy And Says It Was Awkward

Lauren Burnham and Arie Luyendyk Jr. are absolutely one of the happiest couples to come out of The Bachelor's entire history. Since Lauren took home the final rose in season 22 — after Arie first gave it to Becca Kufrin, then went to find Lauren and ask for a second chance — the two have been living their happily ever after.

Arie, 40, and Lauren, 30, have three kids together. They just welcomed twins Senna and Lux in June 2021 and are parents to 2-year-old daughter Alessi. Because they are definitely done having kids, Lauren recently revealed that her husband had a vasectomy. But she made some surprising comments about the procedure.

Lauren and Arie are all about sharing their journey on social media and YouTube. In a recent 16-minute vlog, Lauren opened up about Arie going under the knife. She said he was really nervous and turned "white as a ghost."

"I thought he was going to faint," Lauren said. "He was literally ripping his hair out." Yikes! Clearly, Arie was feeling super anxious about the old snip-snap.

Or it could've been for another reason: that his wife was actually in the room during the entire procedure. While it sounds pretty strange, Lauren says it was "exciting" to watch. Well, OK.

She also admitted that while she was certainly happy about her husband getting the procedure done, it was also "very awkward." Yes, that makes a bit more sense. While married couples pretty much end up seeing all of one another, witnessing a genital operation seems to really leave nothing to the imagination. But to each their own!

The important thing is that Arie put on his big boy pants (or took them off) and had the procedure done, which Lauren says was a joint decision. "Other than the fact that I birthed three children, had a C-section and all that, it was kind of his turn," Lauren said about that important choice.

It was a welcome decision for Lauren, especially because she says she doesn't have great reactions to hormonal birth control, something that's true for a lot of women. "I'm also very sensitive to hormonal birth control," she revealed. "Weirdly enough, it causes mild depression for me so that was hard for us when I've done that in the past."

It's actually not that weird! Depression can be a fairly common birth control side effect. So it's really wonderful that Arie decided to step up and do his part.

The couple also feels like three is the magic number, Arie shared on The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast.

"We just felt a little bit, like, overwhelmed," he said, "so we decided as a couple that three is enough. I think we're so happy because we have our boy, we have the two girls. And I'm already 40, guys — I can't be having kids any later than this in life. I wanna be an active dad. So I think three is okay."
