It's sometimes the youngest heroes who inspire the most amount of courage in those closest to them. This week, that courage was rewarded for a young Oregon girl who celebrated her 5th birthday with a simultaneous prom and wedding blowout.
Lila May Schow from Hood River, Oregon was has suffered from Neuroblastoma since she was 2-years-old. The cancer now in Stage 4, Lila May has been off chemotherapy for some time now, and her parents aren't certain she'll have another birthday. But that hasn't stopped this little one from touching the lives of everyone around her, inspiring her community to throw her the celebration of a lifetime. KOIN originally reported Lila May's story, and donations exceeded their goal in just two short days.
"We’re not going to get the prom dance or daddy-daughter dance," her father told ABC News, so they threw her one of her own complete with themed cakes and a custom-made Cinderella dress fit for a queen, reports KOIN. There were pink ribbons and tulle of various shades and a banquet fit for any princess wedding.
Disney princesses attended the affair. Her carriage passed through crowded streets while she waved at her adorers. Her princes-in-charming (her father and stepfather) escorted her through hordes of people who congregated to celebrate her kindness.

"Ok friends, we're finally back home from a month long medical trip in Michigan," wrote Heidi Hall on her Facebook on July 13. "My little princess is turning 5 on July 31, and this is quite possibly her last birthday (We hope to have many more, but this is our reality). She really wants to have a ball as a party, complete with fancy dresses and dancing and a few other ideas I've come up with. We really want to make this a big party, seeing as how she will never get to go to the prom or have a wedding. I want her to feel like the bell of the ball!"
Lila May's parents threw her the wedding of dreams.
Dad walks his little princess down the aisle.
And her group of princess friends were all ushered in a tulle-lined carriage, because, after all, no princess party would be complete without its horse-drawn carriage!
