As a bus driver named Nathan paused his large public transport vehicle at the last stop of the day, he noticed that there was still a little boy sitting behind him, waiting. Nathan told the child that he needed to get off the bus as he wasn’t making any more stops.
“Sir, can I spend the night here?” the little boy asked Nathan in this video story from Wonderbot.
Nathan was shocked to hear such a question, especially from a child on the bus. He told him that it was impossible as he would get in trouble with his supervisor, but he offered to walk with the boy after he dropped off the bus at the terminal.
He asked the little boy where he lived exactly, to which the boy revealed that he wasn’t exactly sure. He told Nathan that he had recently moved to the city with his mother, who was supposed to get on the bus at one of the stops, but she didn’t.
Nathan wasn’t sure what to do, but he knew that he couldn’t leave a young child alone on the street. The little boy revealed that his name was Carlson, and Nathan invited him up to his apartment.
Luckily, Carlson knew his mother’s full name and was able to divulge that to Nathan. After Nathan allowed Carlson to get comfortable, he decided to make some calls to try to find out what he should do.
The police told him that there were no missing persons at that time matching his mother’s name, so Nathan paused his search to make dinner for Carlson and get him to sleep for the night.
That next morning, Nathan had an idea to call some local hospitals in hopes of locating Carlson’s mother.
