Man’s Life Saved By The Little Girl He’d Never Wanted

Bill Schultz lived most of his life wanting nothing to do with kids. Dating a woman who was also a mother wasn't in the cards. But of course, life has a way of surprising us.

"I swore I was never gonna go out with a divorced woman and especially somebody with a kid, and then I meet Pam and I meet this little girl — and everything I'd said before was totally out the window," Bill says. From the second he met Pam's daughter, Andrea, Bill couldn't help but fall in love with her, too. Little did he know, Andrea would ultimately save his life in the most incredible way.

Bill and Pam got married, and the family enjoyed an active life. However, they started to realize something was wrong with Bill's health. Andrea was the first one to support her dad after he was diagnosed with advanced Leukemia. Though Bill stayed in remission for 18 months, the cancer returned. That's when Andrea decided to make an even bigger sacrifice. Bill's treatment ended up harming his kidneys, and he went into kidney failure. Since Andrea isn't biologically related to Bill, and insurance only covered so many tests for transplant matches, the doctors told her she couldn't be tested. But something inside Andrea told her to demand the test anyway. The doctors were stunned; she was the perfect match.
