This 4-Year-Old Is Obsessed With The Mail, Then He Finds A Special Letter From The Mailman

One of the questions adults always ask when they meet a little kid is, "What do you want to be when you grow up?"

Every child dreams about being something when they grow up — usually they aspire to be something they see a lot, like a teacher or a police officer.

When I was little, I wanted to grow up to be president. Or a mommy. I definitely wasn't decisive, but I knew I wanted to do something important.

One little boy, Logan, wants to have the incredibly important job of being a mailman when he grows up.

He has his own U.S. Postal Service hat and checks the mail multiple times a day, just like a good mail carrier would do.

One day, little Logan went to check the mail with his aunt, and he found the most exciting envelope ever: one addressed to "Mr. Mini Mailman."

Logan was thrilled, and his aunt captured the incredibly heartwarming moment on camera.

His aunt, Emily Giese, shared the following message on Facebook, where it was shared by the page Love What Matters.

Within just a few hours, over 13,000 people liked the Facebook post, and almost 950 people shared the lovely story.

Emily wrote:

My four-year-old nephew, Logan, wants to be a mailman (and gets his practice by checking the mail 100 times a day and peer pressuring me to send him postcards.)

Today, the real live mailman brought him a special delivery! You guysssss.

The letter from “Mr. Mailman” reads:

'Hello Little Mailman,

Sorry I'm typing this, I'm afraid if I wrote it by hand you'd never be able to read it.

I only met you once. It was cold outside and I was running late.

You were sitting on the porch waiting for me to come around.

You were wearing a tee-shirt and USPS baseball cap and it was probably 30 degrees, but you didn't care, you just wanted to see the mailman.

I don’t know why, but it meant a lot to me, little dude.

Today is my last day delivering mail. I really enjoyed it, but I went to school for something else and I found a job that fits me better.

And there's always a chance I'll be back. Life's funny that way.

There's a job called a Postal Inspector that I'm really interested in, but they don't hire people too often.

It’s like being a policeman, but for letters and packages. I promise you’ll be the first one I tell if I get that job!

Anyway, I just wanted to give you a gift so you don't freeze the next time you're waiting for the next regular mailman to make his way around the block.

And don’t worry if you decide it’s not what you want to do when you grow up.

I haven't been working that long and I've already been a mailman, a mechanic, a cashier and a carpenter.

Just find your thing and don't lose the spark.
